Picasso - Valdés. A dialogue with the History of Art. Centro Cultural Las Claras. Murcia. 30 Sept 2021 - 9 January 2022

Picasso and Valdés. A Dialogue with the History of Art, staged by Cajamurcia Foundation in collaboration with Bancaja Foundation, is an exhibition featuring a selection of works so that audiences may compare similarities in the methods in which these two great artists create. Exhibited at the Las Claras Cultural Center, the parallel ways in which the two virtuosos have reflected Art History in their artistic production, as motifs, will be explored.

In the words of Javier Molins, curator of this exhibition: "Both Valdés and Picasso devour the work of the artists they admire, mix their images in their heads as if it were a concrete mixer, and then pour it into their works, often without knowing well where these influences come from”.

More than fifty works are incorporated in the exhibition including painting, sculpture, ceramics and engravings, carefully compiled from the art collections of the Bancaja Foundation, the Cajamurcia Foundation Art Collection, as well as works from private collectors from the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community.
