Antonio Girbés. Delirious City. Shelters. El Almudín. Valencia. July - October 2015.

The exhibition Delirious City. Shelters aims to bring us closer to the most recent work of the Valencian artist Antonio Girbés through large-scale works characterized by the search for serenity and tranquility, and which constitute a place to take refuge from the maelstrom of society current.

Girbés' work is characterized by the construction of new architectures through architectural elements borrowed from reality. And nothing better than the classic architecture of Almudín to host this series of works in which a dialogue with the most contemporary architecture is established. Antonio Girbés has developed a long artistic career that has led him to exhibit his work in cities such as New York, Paris, Vienna, Moscow, Venice, Madrid or Mexico City. And he has participated in international group exhibitions with prestigious artists as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Mapplethorpe, Robert Rauschenberg, Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz or Markus Lüpertz. among others.

This exhibition is the first major exhibition dedicated to him in Valencia, where he lives and works.
